"Glyn
Forshaw returned to our Middleton Clinic in June having spent 9 months
with 40 commando Royal Marines within Helmand Province. Glyn is a Royal
Marine Reserve and received his call up notice early last year. He had
previously served in Iraq in 2005, as a Physiotherapist to the troops.
However in Afghanistan his role was very much in support of the
frontline troops. Since joining the Reserves in 2002 he has continued
to provide treatment and support to the members of the Royal Marine
Reserves Merseyside as a volunteer.
In recognition of his
outstanding work and selfless commitment he has recently been awarded
the Lord-Lieutenant’s certificate.

Glyn’s parents attended the ceremony at Buckingham Palace in July 2007
to accept the award on his behalf, whilst he continued to serve in
Afghanistan.
Glyn worked at our Bolton clinic prior to being deployed to Afghanistan
and was very popular with his patients and we know that they will be
pleased to hear that he has returned safely.
We
would like to congratulate Glyn on his award and welcome him back to
Middleton Clinic where our patients will continue to benefit from his
expertise. |
